This Privacy Policy describes how The Haelan Academy, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and Haelan Enterprises, PLLC (collectively, "we," "us," "our"), collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you visit drlorrelaws.com (the "Website"), use our services, enroll in our programs, or interact with us through any digital platform.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care.  This Policy applies to all information collected through the Website, our educational programs, community platforms, email communications, text message communications, and any other channels through which you interact with us.

By using the Website or providing us with your personal information, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.  Where required by applicable law (including the General Data Protection Regulation), we will obtain your explicit consent before processing non-essential data.

2.  Information We Collect

2a.  Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you interact with us, including but not limited to the following.

Account and enrollment information:  Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and other information provided during program enrollment or account creation.

Payment information:  Billing name, billing address, and payment card details.  Payment processing is handled by Stripe and other third-party payment processors.  We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

Assessment and quiz responses:  Information you provide when completing assessments, quizzes, or surveys on our Website or through our programs.  This may include information about your health, wellbeing, professional experiences, and trauma history.

Community contributions:  Posts, comments, messages, testimonials, and other content you share in our community platforms, group calls, or forums.

Contact form submissions:  Name, email, phone number, and any message content you provide through our contact forms.

Email and text message communications:  Email address, phone number, name, and engagement data when you subscribe to our newsletter, email communications, or text message notifications.

Live session participation:  Audio, video, and chat contributions during recorded live sessions, group calls, intensives, and events.

2b.  Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Website, certain information is collected automatically, including but not limited to the following.

Device and browser information:  IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.

Usage data:  Pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, click patterns, and navigation paths.

Cookies and similar technologies:  We use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze Website traffic, and support advertising efforts.  See Section 7 for more details.

3.  How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes.

To provide, operate, and maintain the Website, Programs, products, and services.  To process transactions and send related information including purchase confirmations and invoices.  To send you communications including newsletters, program updates, promotional materials, and service-related notices via email and text message.  To personalize your experience and deliver content relevant to your interests.  To operate and improve our community platforms.  To administer assessments, quizzes, and surveys and provide results.  To respond to your inquiries, comments, and support requests.  To analyze Website usage and improve our offerings.  To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.  To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.

4.  How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.  We may share your information in the following limited circumstances.

Service providers:  We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf.  These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.  Our current service providers include but are not limited to the following.

Stripe (payment processing).  GoHighLevel (marketing automation, contact management, email marketing, text messaging, community platforms, and related services).  Showit (website hosting).  Google Analytics (website analytics).  Meta/Facebook (advertising and pixel tracking).  Captivate (podcast hosting and listener analytics).  Riverside.fm (audio and video recording for podcast and educational content).  Descript (audio and video editing).  Canva (graphic design).

We may add, remove, or change service providers as needed to operate our business.  Material changes will be reflected in updates to this Privacy Policy.

Legal requirements:  We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or the rights, safety, or property of others.

Business transfers:  In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.  We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

De-identified data:  We may share aggregated, de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for research, educational, or promotional purposes.

5.  Sensitive Information

Our Programs involve topics related to trauma, nervous system health, and personal healing.  Some information you share with us, including assessment responses, community contributions, and program participation data, may be considered sensitive.  We treat all such information with heightened care and confidentiality.

We will never publicly identify you or share your personal story, health information, or assessment results without your explicit written consent.  De-identified excerpts of community contributions may be used for educational or promotional purposes as described in our Terms and Conditions.

6.  Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide you with services, or as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

If you wish to have your information deleted, please contact us at [email protected].  We will process your request in accordance with applicable law within thirty (30) days, though certain information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, financial recordkeeping, or the exercise or defense of legal claims.

7.  Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes.

Essential cookies:  Required for the Website to function properly, including authentication, security, and accessibility features.  These cookies are necessary and do not require consent.

Analytics cookies:  Used to understand how visitors interact with the Website, including Google Analytics.  These help us improve the Website and our offerings.

Advertising cookies:  Used to deliver relevant advertisements and measure advertising effectiveness, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel.

Where required by applicable law, we obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising) on your device through our cookie consent mechanism on the Website.  You may withdraw your consent or adjust your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie settings on the Website or through your browser settings.  Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Website.

8.  Third-Party Analytics and Advertising

We use Google Analytics to analyze Website traffic and user behavior.  Google Analytics collects information through cookies and similar technologies.  You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure advertising effectiveness and deliver targeted advertisements on Meta platforms.  You can manage your advertising preferences through your Meta account settings.

9.  Email Communications

When you subscribe to our newsletter or provide your email address through a lead magnet, assessment, or enrollment, you consent to receive email communications from us.  These may include newsletters, program updates, promotional content, and service-related notices.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email or by contacting us at [email protected].  Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still send you transactional or service-related communications such as purchase confirmations, program access information, and account notifications.

10.  Text Message (SMS) Communications

If you provide your phone number and opt in to receive text messages from us, you consent to receive text message communications including but not limited to program reminders, event notifications, and promotional messages.

Message frequency varies.  Message and data rates may apply.  You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message or by contacting us at [email protected].  Reply HELP for assistance.  Opting out of text messages will not affect your enrollment or access to Programs.

We will not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes.  Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.

11.  Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction.  However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.  We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

Payment information is processed through PCI-compliant payment processors.  We do not store full payment card information on our servers.

12.  Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that compromises the security of your personal information, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with applicable law.  Where required, we will provide notification within the timeframes mandated by applicable federal, state, or international regulations, including but not limited to the seventy-two (72) hour notification requirement under the General Data Protection Regulation for applicable supervisory authorities.

13.  Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the following.

The right to access the personal information we hold about you.  The right to request correction of inaccurate information.  The right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.  The right to opt out of marketing communications.  The right to object to or restrict certain processing of your information.  The right to data portability where applicable.  The right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

14.  California Residents

15.  European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and International Users

The Website and Programs are operated from the United States.  If you are located outside the United States, including in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.  By using the Website or providing information to us, you consent to this transfer.

If you are located in the EEA or United Kingdom, the legal basis for processing your personal information includes your consent (provided when you submit information, subscribe, or enroll), the performance of a contract (when processing is necessary to fulfill your enrollment or purchase), and our legitimate interests (for analytics, security, and improving our services).

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights in addition to those listed in Section 13.  The right to restrict processing of your personal data.  The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.  The right not to be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.  The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

16.  Do Not Track

Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites.  We do not currently respond to DNT signals.  We will update this Privacy Policy if our practices change regarding DNT signals.

17.  Children's Privacy

The Website and Programs are not directed to individuals under the age of 18.  We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.  If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.  If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].

18.  Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.  Changes become effective upon posting to the Website with an updated "Last Updated" date.  We will provide notice of material changes via email or Website notification when practicable.  Your continued use of the Website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
